Webinar: The Biggest Release Sales Comp Has Ever Seen. Come See For Yourself (Wednesday, October 7)
Register- Qobra and HiBob are now official partners. Qobra is listed on the HiBob Marketplace.
- The Bob integration with Qobra syncs employee attributes, hierarchy, and groups daily, so commission plans always run on current workforce data.
- Authentication moves from service accounts to OAuth, which means stronger security and full auditability.
- Existing customers need to reconnect Bob from the Qobra Integrations page. It takes three clicks.
- Next up: sync features designed specifically for HiBob customers, prioritized with their feedback.
Qobra, the sales compensation platform, has signed a partnership with HiBob, the people platform for the modern world of work. The two companies already share 30+ customers who run their commissions on HiBob employee data. This partnership formalizes that link, upgrades the integration to OAuth authentication, and opens the door to HiBob-specific sync features built jointly by the two product teams.
What the Qobra x HiBob partnership means
Sales compensation sits at the intersection of two systems that rarely talk to each other: the HCM, where employee data lives, and the CRM, where deal data lives. Qobra already connects both. This partnership deepens the HR side of that equation with the HCM most of our mid-market customers use.
Concretely, the partnership covers three things. First, a joint commitment to keep the Qobra listing on the HiBob Marketplace accurate and up to date. Second, a more secure, OAuth-based connection between the two platforms, live today. Third, a shared product roadmap for Bob-specific sync capabilities, shaped by the needs of our common customers.
"Every compensation error we see starts with a data problem, and most of the time it is a people data problem: a promotion that was not reflected, a new hire missing from a plan, a manager whose team changed mid-quarter. Bob is where that data is right, and now Qobra gets it straight from the source, securely, every day."
Antoine Fort, CEO and co-founder, Qobra
"Our customers rely on Bob as their single source of truth for trusted workforce data. Partnering with Qobra means that truth now extends to how their sales teams get paid, with more transparency, accuracy and lower need of HR or finance work on Qobra’s side"
João Ferro Rodrigues, VP Strategic Partnerships, HiBob
Why HR data is the missing piece in sales compensation
Most commission software focuses on CRM data: deals, bookings, revenue. That is only half the calculation. The other half is who was on which plan, reporting to whom, in which region, on which dates. That information lives in the HCM, and when it is stale, commissions are wrong.
Four HR events break commission calculations more than any other: new hires who need to be assigned to a plan from day one, promotions and role changes that move someone to a different plan mid-period, team changes that alter what a manager's roll-up should include, and departures that need a precise end date on the last statement. For sales organizations where variable pay represents 30 to 60 percent of on-target earnings, each of these events is a payroll risk when handled by hand.
Our customers told us the same thing in different words: they wanted Qobra to stop asking them for data that Bob already holds. This partnership is the answer. For a broader look at the stack, read our guide to sales compensation and payroll software.
How the Bob integration with Qobra works
The Bob to Qobra integration is a one-way, automated daily sync. Bob stays the system of record for employees. Qobra reads from it and never writes back.
What syncs from Bob to Qobra
The integration pulls employee attributes such as job title, department, location, region, start and termination dates, base salary, reporting line, group membership, and custom fields. Any attribute your HR team maintains in Bob can become a variable in a Qobra commission plan.
How Qobra uses that data
Three mechanisms turn HR data into accurate commissions. Groups synced from Bob automatically assign each employee to the right compensation plan, so a new AE in the EMEA team lands on the EMEA plan without a ticket. The reporting hierarchy is synced and historized every month, so a sales manager's payout is calculated on the deals of the people who actually reported to them during that period. Dates and attributes drive statement periods, prorations, and eligibility rules, so a promotion on the 15th is paid correctly on both sides of the change.
One connection among many
Bob data lives alongside your CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, and others) and your data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery) inside Qobra. See the full list on our integrations page and the technical details in the HRIS connector documentation.
What's new: OAuth authentication for stronger security
Until now, the Bob integration relied on a service account. As part of the partnership, Qobra has moved to OAuth. This brings two concrete benefits.
Security and auditability come first. OAuth scopes exactly what Qobra can access, the connection is tied to an identified user rather than a shared credential, and every access is traceable on the Bob side. For security and IT teams, this removes a long-lived credential from the stack. For compensation and finance teams, it means a cleaner answer to the auditor's question "who has access to our payroll data?"
The second benefit is forward-looking. OAuth is the foundation for the Bob-specific sync features the partnership will allow us to build. The connection you set up today is the one the new capabilities will run on.
Action required: how to reconnect Bob to Qobra in 3 steps
If you already use the Bob integration, you need to reconnect it once to switch to OAuth. Your data and your plans are not affected. The sync resumes automatically once the new connection is authorized.
- Go to the Integrations page in Qobra: app.qobra.co/parameters/integrations.
- Locate the Bob integration card.
- Click Reconnect, then authenticate with your Bob credentials.
You need a Bob account with permission to authorize integrations. If you run into any issue, contact your Qobra account manager or support.
What's next for HiBob customers
The partnership is a starting point, not an end state. Our product team is now scoping sync features designed specifically for HiBob customers, and we are prioritizing them with input from the 30+ companies that already run Qobra on Bob data. If you are one of them, tell your account manager what is missing today. If you are a HiBob customer still calculating commissions in spreadsheets, this is a good moment to see what Qobra does with your people data.

Frequently asked questions
What does the Qobra and HiBob partnership include?
An official partnership between the two companies, Qobra's listing on the HiBob Marketplace, an upgraded OAuth-based integration available today, and a joint roadmap for HiBob-specific sync features.
What data does the HiBob integration send to Qobra?
Employee attributes (job title, department, location, region, dates, base salary, custom fields), the reporting hierarchy, and group memberships. The sync is one-way from HiBob to Qobra and runs daily.
Does Qobra write data back into HiBob?
No. HiBob remains the system of record for people data. Qobra reads from HiBob and never modifies it.
Do I have to reconnect the integration?
Yes, once. Existing customers must reconnect from the Qobra Integrations page to move from service account to OAuth authentication. Plans, statements, and historical data are unaffected.
Why is OAuth more secure than a service account?
OAuth grants Qobra a scoped, revocable authorization tied to an identified user, instead of a shared, long-lived credential. Access is auditable on the HiBob side and can be revoked at any time.
Is Qobra available on the HiBob Marketplace?
Yes. Qobra is listed on the HiBob Marketplace as a sales commission integration. HiBob customers can start from the listing or contact Qobra directly for a demo.
